We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what provides the best experience for our players, families, and coaches. We’ve come to believe that the traditional model of open tryouts, two practices a week, and a long list of tournaments isn’t necessarily the best way to develop young basketball players—or the most enjoyable experience for families.

We are working with Chris Oliver of Basketball Immersion and USA Basketball to educate and train our coaches, with a focus on the Constraints-Led Approach (CLA) to player development.

This approach puts players in situations where they have to experience, explore, make decisions, and solve problems on their own. Rather than simply being told what to do, players learn to recognize situations and make better decisions for themselves.

Our goal is to create better basketball players—but also better thinkers, decision-makers, and teammates.
